Pain Management

Pain management is important for ongoing pain control, especially if you suffer with long-term or chronic pain. After receiving a pain assessment, your doctor can prescribe pain medicine, other pain treatments to help with pain relief.

Epidural steroid injections (ESIs) are a common treatment options for many forms of upper and lower back pain and leg pain. The goal of the injection is pain relief; at times the injection alone is sufficient to provide relief, but commonly an epidural steroid injection is used in combination with a comprehensive rehabilitation program to provide additional benefit.

In addition to the low back (the lumbar region), epidural injections are used to ease pain experienced in the neck (cervical) region and in the mid spine (thoracic) region.
